Are you away from your computer or don't have access to the Ring.io Web Phone but still need to receive calls? Ring.io has a built in feature that will allow for calls to a Ring.io company or personal number that forward to up to (3) outside numbers (eg. your cell phone).
With Ring.io call forwarding, there is no handoff of the call once we connect it to your forwarding number.
Incoming call: Calls forwarded to your cell phone will display the incoming caller ID of the caller. For example, when callers dial to your Ring.io personal number they will be forwarded to your cell phone. Your cell phone will ring which you answer to be connected to your caller. Your callers do not know they are being forwarded to a cell phone.
Outgoing call: Ring.io will first call your external number, the caller ID will display the Ring.io number selected which you will answer. The call is then connected to the number dialed. With an outbound call, the user will have the ability to select the number they want displayed on the receiving party's caller ID.
1.) Log in to the Ring.io Admin Portal.
2.) Click 'Users' and select the user from the list.
3.) Under 'Receive Calls At' uncheck the 'Web Phone' box.
4.) Check the 'Phone' box, enter your forwarding number (eg. your cell phone, landline, etc)
5.) Click 'Save Changes'
6.) Calls to your Ring.io personal number will now be forwarded to an outside number. If you need calls to ring on your Web Phone, check the 'Web Phone' box.
These settings can also be changed directly from the Ring.io Web Phone, by clicking the 'Gear' icon.
Placing an outbound call using call forwarding
1.) To place an outbound call, enter the number you want to dial, click 'Dial'.
2.) Ring.io will call your external number which you will answer. Once you have answered the call, we then connect the call to the number dialed. The caller ID number display on the receiving party's phone will display the number you have selected from the Caller ID dropdown.
