This guide will walk through the process of cold or warm transferring a call with the Ring.io Web Phone.
Cold Transfer: This is a transfer where the caller is not introduced to the party being transferred to.
Warm Transfer: This is a transfer where the caller is introduced to the party being transferred to.
1.) On an active call, click the 'Transfer' button in the Ring.io Web Phone. Calls can be transferred to an internal or external number.
2.) To transfer the call to an internal number, select the internal contact in the drop down list.
3.) To transfer the call to an outside number, select 'External Number'. Enter the destination phone number in the 'Transfer to' field.
Click the Blue transfer button to initiate the transfer.
The current line will be placed on Music on hold during the transfer process. The user that transferred the call can disconnect at anytime without terminating the session.
4.) To initiate a conference call, the third party will need to answer the call. To complete the conference (adding third party to the call), click the 'Unhold' button.
5.) To cancel a transfer, click the Cancel Transfer button.
